Getting Started with Beacons
Beacons are Bluetooth devices typically placed with a store location. Beacons can be sensed by a Member's mobile device, which will indicate a Member's precise physical location within the store. For example, you could implement Beacons in different departments within a store, and use them to see the departments that a Member visited. This information can then be used to target marketing messages, tailored to those departments or products.
Within the Loyalty platform, Beacons are used in conjunction with Zones and Places. A Place is a physical location represented by a street address, and is typically used to indicate a store, restaurant, kiosk, or some other location that is meaningful to a marketer. Within a Place, Zones represent more granular divisions, such as aisle or departments. Once you define a Zone, you can then assign a Beacon to it.
Exports
Loyalty supports only Standard Exports for exporting Beacons. For more information, see Export Beacons.
Imports
Loyalty supports only Standard Imports for importing Beacons. For more information, see Import Beacons.
Access
The Beacons screen is used to view, create, and manage the Beacons in your loyalty program. To access the Beacons screen, select Admin from the top navigation bar, then select Locations > Beacons from the side navigation menu.
